First off I want to thank everyone who has so far entered my giveaway for the cutest reusable produce bags ever:) If you haven't had a chance to enter, you have until this Friday!
I had a great weekend and Valentine's Day wine tasting and relaxing in Northern Michigan. We stayed at the sweetest little ski resort and really enjoyed the snow. I am probably the most uncoordinated person to ever grace the steps of the place...so I didn't ski. But, I had a great time watching other skiers and enjoying everything else there was to offer. I also really enjoyed watching the Olympic opening ceremonies from here:
This was the view out of our room. At night everything was lit up with twinkle lights. So cute!
Hubby thought this pose was really cheesy:)
Before going wine tasting around the peninsulas my guy bought me a 90 minutes massage. Oh my word. It was wonderful. I love him. This was one of the wineries that we tasted at. They have an inn, where I plan to stay at in my next life when I'm a millionaire.
We also ate lunch at this great restaurant housed inside a refurbished state mental hospital. The size of the building was huge and oddly quite beautiful. This picture only shows probably a tenth of the place.
Currently, they are refurbishing some parts to be used as condos. Completely un-creepy, no?
I linked this Valentine's Recap up with Amber @ Friend Makin Monday. Such a cute blog!

ReplyDeleteI'm going to check out that black bean soup -- thanks for the link!
Looks like an amazing weekend. Fantastic pictures. I wish we had more things like here on the west coast. We watched the opening ceremonies as well. I think it's so strange for me as it was 45 mins away from my house!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun weekend. I am glad you had fun. Thanks again for stopping by my Round Robin.. Hope to see you at the next one March 12th. I am hosting a Family Fridays with another blogger on my blog this Friday. You just share a story about your family. If you want to stop by that would be great.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your blog! I love to nest, even though it is kind of a new role for me - just got married last Sept.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog. PS Great poem for mamakat. Also, your kitchen is pretty wonderful. I think stone tilework on the back wall would set off the white and brown and add texture.
Wow! Beautiful buildings AND wine tasting, how could it get any better. We're in MN so not too horribly far away...we might have to make a weekend trip sometime to check some of them out!
ReplyDeleteHappy FMM!
It sounds like such a great weekend! I am glad you were able to get away and relax. The massage ... ahhhh ... I could totally handle that.

ReplyDeleteUgh, I could just die for a get away like that.
Loved reading all about it, and hearing your menu plan for the week. I've been wanting to find a great bean slow cooker recipe, so I'm going to have to check that out!
Off to enter your giveaway!! :)
Oh, Black Star Farms, how I miss you!! I love that place. Isn't it amazing? My husband and I were married on Mackinac Island, but BSF was one of the other places we looked at on the "mainland." The Leelanau Peninsula is heaven to me. Glad you had a great time!
